Bharat Makanjee is a Legal Assistant at Hollander & Hollander, where he supports the firm’s estate planning practice through document preparation, client coordination, and administrative support. His responsibilities include drafting trusts, wills, deeds, advance health care directives, and other estate planning documents, coordinating client meetings, and assisting attorneys throughout the planning process.
Bharat earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Professional Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of the South Pacific in Fiji. Prior to joining Hollander & Hollander, he worked for the Legal Aid Commission of Fiji, advising clients on civil, criminal, and family law matters and representing clients before the Magistrates’ Courts. He was later promoted to Senior Legal Officer and appointed Officer-in-Charge of the Commission’s Sigatoka branch, where he managed branch operations, supervised staff, represented clients in court, and helped lead community legal education programs.
Bharat pursued a career in law because of his passion for helping people navigate complex legal matters and better understand their rights and responsibilities. He enjoys working directly with clients and helping them find clarity during important life decisions.

Outside of work, Bharat enjoys photography, exercising, playing video games, and exploring the Bay Area to discover new places and experiences.
