Michael P. Starzan, Esq. is an Associate Attorney at Hollander & Hollander, where he focuses on estate planning and works with individuals and families to help them plan for the future. His background spans tax, finance, and law, allowing him to bring a well-rounded perspective to complex planning considerations.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and went on to receive both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. He is currently pursuing an LL.M. in Estate Planning from Golden Gate University. He has been a member of The State Bar of California since 1998.
He began his career in the Tax Services Group at Deloitte & Touche before spending 25 years in investment banking with firms including Robertson Stephens, Lazard Frères & Co, and BMO Capital Markets. Most recently, he served as a Managing Director, focusing on equity capital markets. Over the course of his career, he has raised more than $54 billion in proceeds for clients across more than 150 transactions.
Michael was drawn to estate planning after a long career in finance, where he particularly valued working closely with CEOs and CFOs. He now applies that same relationship-driven approach to helping individuals and families navigate important planning decisions.
He is passionate about helping people plan for their future and enjoys being part of a firm where he can work alongside colleagues and serve the local community. Outside of the office, Michael enjoys spending time with his family and remains active in the Marin County community, where he lives.
